NEON supports those involved in widening access to HE

NEON enables HE providers, and other organisations, to widen access to higher education and support student success, bringing about change organisations and making HE more equitable.

Affecting change across HE

At the heart of NEON is a cross-sector approach, bringing together HE providers, schools, colleges, the voluntary sector, professional bodies and employers, NEON is a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) and grew from the need for a strong, coherent community of professionals that could support learners from under-represented backgrounds to enter, and succeed, in HE. NEON is shaped and led by its members.

NEON’s four key objectives

Development

To increase the professionalisation of widening access work through the development and accreditation of practice.

Research & Advocacy

To be a research and advocacy resource for those working in access at the local, regional and national level.

Quality

To develop and enhance practice and quality in widening access work.

Support

To offer input and support to policy-makers and government from the widening access community.

All NEON’s work is based on a clear mission statement
